Things I’ve Learned from Role Playing on Twitter

I’ve been role playing on Twitter for about 2 years now.  I love it.  Way too much!

Here are a few things I’ve learned from role playing on Twitter:

1.  Sleep is optional. Seriously.  My insomnia has kicked into high gear since I started RPing.  And there are tons of insomniacs on Twitter!  It’s like some Twilight Zone version of an Insomniacs Anonymous meeting.  Except no one is trying to  help anyone else get better.  We all feed each other’s addiction.  Kinda twisted.  I love it.

2.  It’s addicting. Not only is it fun to “play dress up,” but it’s great for writers.  You get to learn the “voice” of the characters.  You get to dream up plots.  It’s great for writer’s block – just start tweeting!

3.  Some people are jackasses. Let’s face it.  Internet + anonymity + losers = jerkoffs with nothing better to do than say crap they’d never have the guts to say IRL.  Just let it go and move on.

4.  Some people are incredibly creative. Some of the stuff I see in storylines role playing on Twitter amazes me.  Hollywood should just hire some of the Twitter roleplayers.  I swear.

5.  It’s fun to help new people. There is nothing more fun than helping new people get started role playing on Twitter.  Honestly, I love it.

So, that’s my rambling.  Hope you enjoyed. :P
